By combining practice and experience of yoga and music, we can achieve greater progress and depth in each, and in our lives.
Yoga is about learning to stop identifying with the endless positioning of the ego so that we are able to connect and interact fully with the world around us with our whole being unrestricted by habits and preconceptions. To advance beyond our innate ability in both Yoga and Music requires letting go of the ego’s concerns to unlock the potential of the whole brain and the whole body, ultimately freeing the mind.

To follow the deepest current or pulse of the music with its inherent structure as it unfolds, we need to let go of all mental or physical resistance. We then perceive music’s recognisable rhythmic and tonal building blocks instead of depending on discernable surface elements like melody or lyrics. We call the deep structure, or fabric, from which any piece of music emanates, "the matrix". Our awareness of the matrix can be used as a point of meditation and practice in yoga.
